Hello, friends! We just came back from a very successful chamois hunting trip! Here is the man of the week with his trophy:
In Bulgaria you can hunt chamois in the winter and in the spring. You can combine this type of hunting with wild boar and mouflon hunting.
Bulgaria is a wonderful destination for Chamois hunting, home to the Balkan Chamois species . The best place to hunt it is in the Rhodope mountain, at an altitude from 800 to 1600 m. The hunting period is from the 1st of December to the 15th of January, then from the 10th of April to the 10th of May. The best period is in the winter when the visibility is better and the fur – more beautiful. Only mature animals can be hunted – min. 7-8 years old. The trophies range from 100 to 115 points. The population of our hunting region is 500 chamois and every year around 10 can be hunted. The population of chamois is stable, slightly on the rise. There are easily accessible places for hunters who have trouble walking long distances, as well as more challenging areas. This type of hunting can be combined with capercalzie, wild boar, mouflon and red deer hunting.
The trophy rates depend on the CIC points:
